Who says you can’t drink your breakfast?

Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, while others never have breakfast.


How do you feel about breakfast?


I am generally an early morning person who wakes up hungry most days, so for me breakfast is a must!


However, in the spirit of variety, I try to mix it up a bit - either in terms of what I have or the method of preparation because I don't do boring very well.


So this morning I turned my bowl of oats into a smoothie and had a tasty, nourishing liquid breakfast which was just as satisfying as if I had prepared it in the usual way.




Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup hot water (used to soak the oats for about 15 minutes at the start)

  • 2 tbsp golden ground flax

  • 1 banana

  • cinnamon to taste

  • honey to taste

  • 1 scoop of plant protein powder (I used a chocolate flavoured one that provides 20 grams of protein per scoop)

  • 1 cup almond milk


Method:

  • Measure oats into your blender jar

  • Pour hot water and let sit for 15 minutes

  • Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth

  • Pour into your favourite glass and enjoy!
